About Pasargad Heritage Foundation

 

             Pasargad Heritage Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious organization that was incorporated according to the Federal Laws of the United states of America and the laws of the Colorado State on April 25th, 2007 by Ms. Shokooh Mirzadegi and was formally registered on May 2, 2007

            This Foundation was incorporated after the action of a vast number of people in all parts of the glob, who since 2004 and under the guidance of The International Committee to Save the Archeological Sites of the Pasargad Plains, endeavored to prevent the destruction of the mausoleum of Cyrus the Great, the founder of Persian Empire some 2500 years ago who is the issuer of a decree on the Human Rights that was formally recognized by the United Nation as the first such decree in the history. Cyrus's mausoleum was also recognized as a human heritage and a shrine for humanity. The Foundation is to expand the goals of the that Committee with regards to all the valuable cultural and historical sites.  

 

Being a not-for-profit organization means that the Founder, members of its Board of Trustees and the person responsible for running its affairs are not supposed to receive revenues from the Foundation and any other governmental and private institutions in lieu the work they do for the Foundation.

At the same time, in all activities, seminars, and gatherings of the Foundation, The Founder, members of the Board of Trustees and the person responsible for running Foundation's affairs can not promote political parties, groups and fractions that they support or belong to.

           

The objectives of the Foundation are as follows:

a.       Collecting information about the situation of historical and cultural heritages of Iran which are inside or outside that country with a list of all natural and man-made dangers that threaten their existence, whether by intention or due to negligence.

b.       Informing the people in Iran and all over the globe about these dangers and suggesting actions to prevent such catastrophes.

c.       Informing international organizations that are responsible for the preservation of historical and cultural heritages that belong both to Iranian nation and the rest of humanity about such threats.

d.      Following up the actions of local and international organizations

e.       Filing class actions in with legal authorities for prevention of such destructive actions against the cultural heritages of Iranians.

f.        Encouraging other people to get involved in such actions.

g.       Inviting writers, artists and the owners of mass media to join the struggle

h.       Creating news and information archives and making them accessible to the public through internet and other media.

i.         Holding lectures, classes, seminars and conferences in relation to the goals of the Foundation.

j.        Endeavoring to render alternative methods of implementing development programs that do not have to destruct national heritages.

k.      Publishing pamphlets, papers and books and producing audio-visual materials that spread information and attract support from others.
